As if you don’t already have enough going on this season, those infamous company holiday potlucks are definitely going to be one of those must-do’s on your calendar. In fact, I have one coming up next week and I am already trying to decide what I am going to bring…
I don’t know about you but I have a love hate relationship with these types of things. I love them because it means there is good food hanging around the office all day and oftentimes, the office seems a little more relaxed as people feast throughout the work day.
But, then again, it is stressful to cook for the people you work with and stuff always seems to go wrong when you absolutely don’t have any room for error.
For example, just this weekend I was making something last minute for our company baking competition. But, unfortunately, it went totally haywire and didn’t end so well…
Anyways, when the pass up sheet for that holiday potluck starts circling the office, here are a few ideas to list by your name:
- Pull apart breadThis stuff is like crack – it is delicious and filling. Of course, you can get super fancy with it and do something like a pull apart bread in the shape of a Christmas tree like you’d see on Pinterest.
Or, you can keep it simple and totally do it just with a regular loaf of bread.
- MeatballsThese are pretty much foolproof – especially since you can buy frozen meatballs and nobody will know the difference.
My favorite thing to do is to stick a bag of meatballs in the crockpot with some sauce and my job is done. Then you can even take it to work just like that.
- 7-layer dip
Now, there is no guarantee everyone will like this – mainly because of the guacamole. But, chips and dip are always a safe bet and 7-layer dip is packed with flavor.
